Village of Pewaukee Police Commission
Meeting Minutes
August 8, 2022
I. Call to Order/Roll Call
President Spakowicz called the meeting of the Village of Pewaukee Police Commission to order at 5:30 p.m. on August 8, 2022, in the Village Hall Board Room. Secretary McNeill conducted a roll call. The following persons were present: President David Spakowicz, Commissioners William Gehrking, Jill Bloedow, Pete Rohde and Secretary Mary McNeill. Chief Timothy Heier and Deputy Chief Mark Garry were also present.
II. Citizen Comments
There were no citizen comments nor were there any citizens present at the police commission meeting.
III. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meetings
The minutes of the April 20, 2022 meeting and the May 3, 2022 meeting were presented for review. Upon completion of the review, Commissioner Gehrking made a motion to accept the minutes from both meetings as presented. Commissioner Rohde seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
IV. Closed Session
Commissioner Rohde made a motion that the Police Commission move into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statues Section 19.85(1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body had jurisdiction or exercises responsibility specifically regarding Police Sergeant candidates.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Bloedow. A roll call vote was taken by Secretary McNeill.
The motion passed unanimously.
The commission moved into closed session at 5:37 p.m.
V. Reconvene into Open Session
Commissioner Rohde made a motion to reconvene into open session. Commissioner Gehrking seconded the motion.
Secretary McNeill took a roll call vote and the vote passed unanimously. The Commission reconvened into open session at 6:37 p.m.
VI. Possible Action on Sergeant Candidate.
Commissioner Rohde made a motion to confirm the appointment by Chief Heier of Officer Michael Rowe to the position of Sergeant of Police. President Spakowitz seconded the motion.
The vote passed unanimously.
VII. Adjournment
Commissioner Gehrking made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Secretary McNeill. The motion was passed unanimously. President Spakowicz adjourned the meeting at 6:43 p.m.
